2025 CE Requirements for Massage Therapists
In continued response to COVID-19 and the ongoing concerns of licensees, the Florida Board of Massage Therapy approved an additional two-year change to renewal requirements. This is a temporary ruling providing an extension through to August 31st, 2025.
The following CE credits are required to renew your Florida license:
12 Live Credit hours may be completed in a live physical structure classroom setting with a teacher, or in a webinar learning format that offers hands-on demonstrations.
i.e. Live interactive class or an on-demand format, (pace yourself learning setting)
Each of our 12 credit 'webinar' distance learning courses' have been approved by the Florida Massage Board and extended to August 31st, 2025.
The 7 Mandatory credits required each cycle for Florida are shown below:
2 CE hours in Professional Ethics
2 CE hours in the Prevention of Medical Errors
2 CE hours in Florida Laws and Rules
1 CE hour on Human Trafficking
PLEASE NOTE:
We report all CE credits to CE Broker within 24 hours of course completion .

Is this is your first renewal?
During the first biennial renewal cycle, your hours are prorated according to the month you were licensed. Florida requires the licensee complete the following credit hours.
(3) Pursuant to Section 456.013 (7), FS, during the first renewal the Florida Board Rule requires Continuing Education Massage Therapists to do the following required courses:
a) Two instruction hours in Prevention of Medical Errors
b) One hour in Human Trafficking Awareness
c) One instruction hour for each month or partial month licensed.
Once you Complete these Credit hours ....
All of your CE hours must be submitted to CE Broker prior to your renewal.
The state of Florida requires that board-approved continuing education providers submit completed hours on your behalf within 30 days.
If your provider is not a Florida board-approved provider you need to self-submit your hours to CE Broker. (example: if your credits were obtained via completing an NCBTMB approved course).
Once your credits have been submitted to CE Broker you can then log into your account on the Department of Health's website and pay your renewal fee. The current fee is $105.

Massage therapists licensed during the renewal period of September 1st, 2023 to August, 31st, 2025, may use the above table as a guide in calculating how many CE credits are needed for your specific renewal before August 31st, 2025. However, you will need 24 continuing education credits for the renewal cycle ending August 31st, 2027.
